2nd PLACE WINNER!!!:)

"The Replicant rose and looked at itself. A drop of rain rolled down its cheek.......or was it a tear? It took a deep breath and stood still. It despised the humans.......and it wanted to live."

It's in the far flung future. I wanted to show that it could be any big city anywhere in the world.

Awesome! It's truly a wonderful piece. However, something that catches my eye is the puddle ripples. They aren't exactly realistic for it raining so much. It wouldn't be all one big ripple but, rather, a bunch of smaller ripples bouncing off each other. On a positive note, I like how the lighting is consistent with everything and the models look great.

Also, not to be rude, but I don't understand why this was submitted to the DoomsdayNow group. It doesn't really seem to have any relevance to it and if it does, you should probably note it in the Artist's Comments box. Just pointing that out.

No offense taken. I do appreciate your taking the time to go over the piece. Yes, there are some inconsistencies. The lighting and environment had to be completely changed from the original stock images. Basically had to start thinking dark, thinking Bladerunner. The rain and the drops....yes.....it was my first or second attempt at incorporating weather as part of the theme and environment. Of course, you're right.....the drops would be more detailed.

As far as Doomsday. After seeing this film, I felt it was a bit of a cultural doomsday. Complete breakdown, complete depression of society. So on a more social level, it was my own feelings of doomsday. Not just gasmasks and old Pink Floyd songs and bombs.

Thank you so much for your thoughts!

It's no problem at all. :) But really, I do quite love this piece. It's beautiful in a dark and mysterious way.

And I see how it relates. Sorry 'bout that. Just a little confused since it's mostly fan-stuffs for RA. ^^;
